The recoiling by the global markets is an indication that a setback to the U.S. economy will hurt the other global economies as well. Most nations, especially the East Asian and European countries derive the bulk of their export earnings from the U.S. Fed Accelerates Rescue Efforts The global credit crisis that became public in July last year seems to have more legs to play out.

The United States remained the country's top export destination in 2007, accounting for 17 percent of total receipts. Other top destinations include Japan, China, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. .
John Torode and Gregg Wallace
JT Because it's a real show about real people who do real food. It's not trying to pull the wool over anybody's eyes. Are you intentionally funny? GW I try to be funny nearly all the time. I have two moods: one is messing about, the other is cut-your-throat miserable, and 80% of the time I'm trying to be funny. JT Every so often, Gregg says, "Grape and garlic, not a combination I'm used to". Well, of course it's not, but what other way are you going to say, "You idiot, you shouldn't put grapes and garlic together"? Do you deliberately ham it up? GW No. JT We are who we are. If you were to spend a weekend with us we'd be exactly the same people. Are you really that shouty? JT Yeah, we always shout.

In the last year, the BMF has co-sponsored events with 20 other campus organizations and has become a strong voice in UC politics. These days, black men aren't sitting on the steps of their freshman dorm listening to “Suicidal Thoughts" and contemplating dropping out. They're running for UC president, lobbying administrators, commanding Harvard's attention. They've taken charge. HUMBLE BEGINNINGS Ashong was the first of them all. A captivating orator who could hypnotize his audience with unceasing hand motions and a spark in his eye, Ashong was all over the campus, in the Black Students' Association (BSA), Kuumba, the Haitian Alliance, and occasionally at Asian American Association meetings—when they had ice cream.
